I would not suggest this place. Server I would be a B Food I would give a D The host took us to our table but did not provide us with rolls, that waitress seamed new to waitressing and did not stop long enough to request thing like the rolls, the can with the peanuts was empty, and I have to refill it myself. Now for the food it was COLD (luke warm at best); the green bean and the mashed potatoes were room temp, and fried mushrooms and onions looked like someone kinda cooked then on a skillet for a minute they were oily and a little browned but were very much raw. The first steak was cooked properly but since they had to remake everything else I sent it back. Others at my table found their steak not cooked properly, and their side items also were cold. They did remake our food which was better but this time my steak was over cooked and the owner/manager made us feel like our expectations of hot food was too much. He did take 15 dollars off the bill but by the time they got us our food out we had already been there for an hour and were not really in the mood to eat the food.

When I most recently visited this location the service was very good and everything came out quick - but they weren't that crowded. The prices are decent the atmosphere is decent and the food isn't bad but isn't great. Probably what you'd expect. Somewhat limited menu outside of steaks, but their drink menu is lengthy especially for girlie drinks if you're into that.

Great food good service. Glad I came here to have a birthday dinner. Special thanks to the waitresses Reianna and Michelle for making it fun. We have had Michelle a few times since she was a trainee. Lord the manager was nice and was around to make sure the customer was taken care of.

We stayed at West Bend for a weekend, and hesitated when we saw the Yelp rating .. I'm so glad we decided to go! We had no problems at all getting seated, and the waitress took our order for drinks immediately .. the kids loved the peanuts, so much so that we had to move the bucket away! But, that was quickly forgotten when the rolls came out - wow! Fresh, warm, and delicious! When the food was brought out, we quickly knew we needed to take back food as the portions were huge .. unfortunately, was too stuffed to try the desserts. The staff were all friendly, and have to give our experience 5 stars. Thank you so much!
For a chain restaurant, pretty solid. All the food I've had has been great. The steaks, ribs, chicken...all extremely good. The load baked potato is an absolute must. The staff is fine, it's pretty obvious they hire young inexperienced servers though. I wish they'd hire girls older than 21 who have a better idea what they're doing. To sum up. Great food. Okay service.

We've had good & not-so-good experiences at this restaurant. What's nice is you can call ahead & get your name on the seating list instead of sitting in their waiting area. The waitstaff was friendly but all very young & inexperienced to food service. They were never rude. The rolls & cinnamon butter are quite the "filler". Helpful hint: Remove all the extra inside dough then you won't feel so bad about eating all those carbs. The place is noisy. The country music blasts & is a good mix of the oldies but goodies & newer songs. The waitstaff used to dance every hour on the hour. They don't seem to do that any more. The food is good. If there is a problem, they will try their best to get it right or will give you a voucher for a free meal. Medium rare to rare is just not their forte it seems. The salmon is delicious as are the ribs. The steaks are tender (msg) & juicy. The peanuts are good & the waitress gives me extra to take home to feed the squirrels! Never had the food come to the table cold. Overall, it's a fun place to visit, servers are friendly, you can sing along with the country songs & more often than not you can also sing "Happy Birthday" to someone in the crowd & the food is good. Even though the waitstaff is young & inexperienced, remember this is probably just a stepping stone for them before they go back to high school or college. They are just starting out in this big world. We can help them. Be patient. :)

Fun environment and great staff. An order was messed up and they owned up to their mistake and gave us some free appetizers. It's nice to see a great place with great management to solve problems and create a great atmosphere.

I am always satisfied with my meal, steak, sweet potato and a salad, but the staff is always sub par. Every time I go, we ask to sit at the bar and the hosts always as if we are asking for a million dollars. The service could defiantly improve. But for a quick, inexpensive eat, for decent food, it is a great option.

This seems like the type of place that is always busy. They actually have a holding area at the front entrance with about 10 benches in a room that looks like a horse stable. I've always had to wait to be seated, but the wait is never more than 15 minutes. The holding area is a great place for you to meet other patrons and bond over having to wait. As we were being seated every seat was occupied and the environment was loud and festive. There was a full bar in the middle of the dining room, as well as, a lot of booth seating. The server was very upbeat and awesome. His coverage was over, at least, 10 tables, which seemed like a lot to me. This resulted in slow refills, which was annoying, however, the guy was so nice so we didn't care! The yeast rolls and cinnamon honey butter were the bomb! I was informed by a kill joy who told me that each roll was 22 grams of carbs, but I did not care. The server sent us home with 6 rolls and more butter...gee what a nice guy! The steak was small and I saw a lot of people ordering it well done. If you like your steak well done, stay home and ruin your meat at home. In retrospect, I think there is a problem when people leave a steak house raving about the yeast rolls and not the steak. The tab was also reasonable for what we ordered, however, not cheap.

Food is good, service poor. Lots of staff standing around at the hostess stand especially, with nothing to do. Meanwhile, I wait at the take out stand for almost 10 minutes before anyone acknowledges me. The girl was off getting an order for the customer ahead of me. Take out girl finally comes back, only to realize she never put my order in. It's going to be another 15-20 minutes. The girl is very apologetic, and I pay nothing for my meal. I guess I should be happy about a free meal, but after a long day of work and getting to eat dinner now at 9 PM, I was still a bit upset. I'm wondering how much they are paying these 5 hostesses who stand around chit chatting? Meanwhile, the girl at the takeout, who is running around like crazy to get the orders in, is not even offered some help. The only time I saw these 5 hostesses do something, was when they were called to come dance. This is not a one time observation, it is this way every time I get takeout there. Excited for the charcoal grill to open back up.

Went back again and we all had good meals. One problem though was that we felt the shrimp was rather unexciting. It was cooked properly but was nothing special. 5 shrimp for 6.50 I think it was. They were smaller than we expected and nothing special on the flavor. Our steaks, sweet potato and ribs were excellent though. 1/2 ribs and shrimp 20 bucks steak and shrimp 20 bucks. Service was good but lacked a little finesse. I would say they did their best. We returned again recently (2012). Good service for lunch. I ordered a burger this time. It was of good size for the money which I liked but the beef was a little skimpy from what I would expect at a place like this. They did say they grind their own meat. Which if this was true it would be a good thing. Does anyone know for sure? Other dishes for our group were well spoken of and everybody enjoyed them. The bathroom was ok but a little unkempt. There was water on the floor, the sink and paper towel machine were dirty. It wasn't terrible but I would like it to be cleaner. This is still one of the better places to eat in the area unless someone can tip me off to some better places with similar prices. We know there are some pricier places that probably have some pretty good food.

I am a big guy and i don't always fit comfortably in a booth so I asked for a table, server lead me to a booth. I again asked for a table she said she didn't have any available. so i told her i would go elsewhere. We passed 4 empty tables as I walked out the door. They would rather have somebody leave then give them a table in a different section. Given the big problem they had in the past (Google" west bend roadhouse hair") you would think customer service would be a top priority here.

Was in West Bend on a business trip for a couple weeks. I ate here probably more than I should've, due to lack of any better dinner options in the area. The food was okay at best (cept the rolls, god bless those rolls), but the hostesses and waitresses were friendly. The ribs I had were pretty dry, and the steak tasted of freezer burn. Found that news story about the rogue grill chef that worked at this location around the time I visited. Grossies.

Worst service! Hostess took us back and said oh ur table is dirty still... looked around us and there were like 20 other tables open for us to sit at. Nope she wanted us to sit at this table... well I told her I wanted to sit on the other side of the restaurant. So she took us to a table meant for 6... mind u we r only 2 people, why do we need a table meant for 6?! So moved over to a table for two after she left. Waited 5 mins for our waitress to come greet us. She didn't even know we were in her section. She was good with customer service. Suggested a drink was nice. Took 10 mins to get our drinks. I order a mixed drink my boyfriend ordered a lemonade. Ordered our food. Took 30 mins to get that. When the food came out it was cold and wrong. Had sautéed onions and mushrooms on it which I didn't order. They took it back and brought me a new one 10 mins later. By that time it was time to go. I just took it to go. We did though get the check quickly and left our waitress a good tip still. But before we left we watched the hostess tried to seat 2 other couples(2) at that 6 person table. We asked the waitress why she did that she said because she is not familiar with the seating chart. I think we may go back but not anytime soon.
